An Emotional Morning

I went to a memorial service this morning for a friend. It was more than a little overwhelming for me and there were many tears though I am confident that Ms. P is in heaven. If you can spare a prayer, please keep Ms. P's family in your thoughts and prayers especially in this holiday season.

Hug Your Loved Ones

Last night when I went into the office, I got an e-mail that the wife of one of our Milwaukee attorneys passed away very unexpectedly. Making it even more emotional, they had recently announced that they were pregnant with their second child. My heart is just breaking for the W family. Please keep them in your prayers

Need some prayers

I had a conversation with someone this morning and now I really need to pray about where God is leading me with this. If you can spare a prayer for discernment, I'd appreciate it.

Tornado Hits Home

A prayer request if you would. A tornado hit my home town of Griffith, Indiana late last night. I've talked to my mom and she and my dad are fine. My aunt, however, has some severe damage to her home as the tornado blew out all the windows on her first floor. Thankfully, she and my grandma were not in the front room at the time. It's weird looking through the pictures on the newpaper's website as I know a couple of the people pictured.

A hard way to start the morning

When we move here, Ian got involved right away in his new cub scout den. It was in this den that he met Matthew E. Unfortunately, Matthew had just gone through a bout with brain cancer and was in remission; however, that remission was short-lived and the cancer returned with a vengeance two months ago. We just received word yesterday that Matthew is not expected to last much longer and the family is receiving hospice care. Because everyone at school knows Matthew, they let the kids know how he is doing. This morning, Ian curled up on my lap and said, "Mommy, Matthew isn't doing very well. They said there is a 90% chance that he is going to die today." It took everything I had to explain to him that this wasn't the end for Matthew and that he would soon be able to spend the rest of his days with Jesus without pain or illness. At the same time, my heart is breaking, not only for my son who is going to experience such a loss at such a young age, but mainly for Matthew and his family. I am trying to focus on what is unseen and that God is calling Matthew home, but I have been crying all morning. If you can, please say a prayer for Matthew and his family during this difficult time.

Prayer Request

My friend Angie is having some tests performed. Hopefully, it is nothing serious, but it's a problem that hasn't gone away and I know she's scared and I just want her to know I'm there for her and I will be praying her through.

On Saturday, my friend Angie completes her RCIA journey and will officially become a Catholic. This has been quite a journey for Angie and I know she has been really looking forward to this day. I just wanted to give her a big congratulations and let her know that I will be praying for her and her husband, Eric, on this special day for them. Give your loved ones an extra hug today

This morning I found out that the husband of one of the women I know through an online scrapbook community passed away very suddenly. My heart is just breaking for her and her young daughter. We never know the day or hur that God will call us home, so hug your loved ones a little tighter and cherish every moment. Please keep Nancy and Chloe in your prayers.
